Where's My "Mr. Darcy" ?

Yesterday, I was watching Pride and Prejudice by myself and as those romantic movies always do, it made me want to be in love. I related so well to Lizzy (Ms. Elizabeth). It's crazy how stubborn and how well people fall for me, yet I find no interest in them. But it always seems that I like the one that no one expects and they eventually tell me after I wonder why I see them everywhere or hear from them so much. I am sorry if you are one of the ones to which at one point in time I had to explain that there is nothing and shall never be. I am so sorry, but commend me beign blunt to you. I would rather one person be unhappy for a week, month, or so...instead of both of us being unhappy for the rest of our lives.Well, back to the story line. I just find Pride and Prejudice the sweetest movie ever. I hardly ever watch chick flicks, especially by myself, but for some reason I was up for it. Well, long story short, I almost cried... Compassion Sucks.... lol. Well, if you have the time watch the movie. Guys I am talking to you too. You could learn a little bit from the characters in there.

Well, as love apparently works, it shall happen to all of us. I find that eventhough I simpathize with the movie and it is the ending is the best, I still stand at being stubborn. I feel that it will happen when it happens, and I will not be able to deny it. Love is true! Well, one day....one day.

As my life is. Yes, I am tired of beimg single. I wish sometimes that I has someone to walk around and look at the night sky with, someone to watch movies with, someone to cut up with all the time, having someone to be there when I am upset when I miss a phone call from my brother in Iraq, someone to hold me and tell me that it will be ok when I need comfort, and just someone to look into my eyes and truely mean it. Well, love is one person game, so if you step up, I am sorry if I feel nothing like that for you, but atleast you know that I will tell you. But be persistant if you know for some sherd of evidence that I truely may have my pride running wild and dont want to give in to the blindness, love is scarey that way.

Watch the movie. And the crazy thing is that you don't have to want to be in a relationship of even be in one to want to. If you watch this movie.... well.... I shall not give it away. But think of the character you like most from the begining and put yourself in their shoes. I choose Lizzy and well, its crazy, but she is soo me.So, I shall end with a simple hypothetical question.. Where is my "Mr. Darcy"?

It's EASY: Live What You Believe!!

Well, I am a Christian and everyon knows that...if not, now you do. But I wold love to say I would do anything for him...but honesty I am not there in my walk with God. But I am growing continually and I would like to think that if I was walking down the street, someone could point me out as a disciple of Jesus. I would love to say that with confidence..but I know there are somedays that I don't have that "jump" to my step.

But There are a few things that bother me..like just this past weekend. I was on the BSU (I mean BCM) Conference and I was hanging out with some of the other people. ANd out of the blue, assuming these two guys went to school togather of course, one of the guys asks, "Did you study?" "Naw; I never study....I have blah blah next to me." "Man I wish I was sitting over there, blah keeps covering her page" Well, that when someone interupted and so did I with replys like... "why do you have to cheat?"; "what going to happen when the exam rolls around?" Well, apparently these guys thought it was ok to cheat and they will continue to cheat even into exam time. And they kinda slashed comments toward me and this other person about "you must the ones who mess up the curves!"

Well honesty I have nothing that discriminates myslef against cheater. But I don't see it as right. It is morally wrong. They are relying on someone else to know what they should, and they leave with a passing grade eventhough they have no clue. What is up with that?! But The thing that irritates me the most is that one of them was a BSU representative state-wide. How can you be a leader and be a role model for others, when what you are doing isn't moral worthy??

I don't get it!
Well, this just hits me hard. I don't know what to say to people that are so lost in themselves and grades that they can't handle, then they figure they can add more things and be a leader in something else. I honesty can say, I don't cheat and NEVER will. I take 20 hours, yes, and I get good grades! I pass my classes and honesty if Idon't know the material, I will tell the teacher and would rather fail the test then cheat. Honesty! Integrity! On my Honor!

Well, as I see someone that has done something, that isn't "Christian-like" and lives with it [ meaning = doesn't bother to fix it ]... can only become the typical view of Christians. IF YOUR A CHRISTIAN ACT LIKE IT! If you should be a role model, be one. Don't cheat if you know it is not moral.

This reminds me of the other time I was at a retreat, Gatlinburg Retreat. I didn't say anything though. But there was this gurl... she was wearing one of the while bracelets (that all of us had on from the retreat meetings in the morning) and even was a youth leader (meaning she was the "role model" of her group of friends/christians). But she was wearing a spray painted (you know b/c there was a vender dude who made them) with a playboy bunny in the middle of the shirt... and the word Sexy, *itch, and Pimp.. on the shirt also. I found it amazing.
I have more stories... but would rather not.

But the main question is, how can someone be a leader and not worry about if they are a good role model? Are they not worried about how they are portraining Christians (or anything for that fact)?? It's just like the captain of teams who drink of do drugs and are no good to be an example of the team. Or it's like those who cuss like no tomorrow and have no concern about how STUPID they sound. [Sorry if you are one of these people.. but please know that I just want you to open your eyes and she what and idiot you look and should like...how bad you contrict yourself and beliefs....Better yet, I am not sorry... OPEN YOUR EYES AND LOOK AT YOURSELF]

Lately.......

"We all indulge in the strange, pleasant process called thinking, but when it comes to saying, even to someone opposite, what we think, then how little we are able to convey! The phantom is through the mind and out of the window before we can lay salt on" - Virginia Woolf (1882-1941) [Stephen] British Fiction Writer, CriticWell not today!

Seriously, God is AMAZING. And since yesterday (yes, if you are thinking about you, it might be), God has revealed to me true compassion. The summer seems so far away now. God is working on me soo much. These past months, I have learned so much. More than I ever knew. My faith is soo much stronger! But now, not only am I working on a part of the bible that I would never have looked at because it is extremely confusing..but its being to look clearer. But also he has laid something on my heart. My friends and family. They are so lost and I just don't get it, but I know God will point out that which I need to know. I am not sure what to do or say. What to do! Lord, I really wish I had this blueprint...some script or something....to fix all this. I know that it's all trust. I trust you Lord. Lord please help me to more real with myself and others. I know that I live for you...but I can't...... I just don't know what to say. Reveal to me what your desires are for me, Lord. They need you as much as I do. I know I am not perfect...by far I am not Jesus.. .but for some reason they ritcule you and try to fill me head with comments....they never stay. Lord, I love you more than they would ever amount to. Worshiping you, pray to you, talking to you, and just praising you is the best thing in the world.
Lord .. Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstbordn for the dead, and the ruler over he kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, And has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. -Revelations 1:5-6

As I look back on yesterday, I feel like you have done this for a reason. As you always do. But am I really ready? This is one thing I am always struggling with. Lord, please be with them. I don't get it. They know who you are. They know who Jesus is. They know he died on the Cross. What more can I say? What is there to say? I don't get it! They know you, but they don't accept you. You were denied three times yesterday, on my voicemail for that fact. You were ripped apart. I litterally just cried last night. Last night, compassion hit me. Lord Jesus I love you more than the world and I want them to know you. I want them to know you personally. You have always been there for me; You help me through it all; You hold me under your wings; You continue to grow within me; You make me just soo blessed; You have saved me; You forgive me for everything I have done. Daily I sin; daily I continue on my day with no thoughts of you; somedays I forget to pray to you; and then others.. . o.. those other days.... Those are the most beautiful days. You make the sunshine through the clouds; You make is warm even when it is snowing; You teach me new things about myself as Psalms 32:8 says "..I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye..."; You cleanse me; Those are the days I praise you more. [Psalms 34:1..."I wil bles the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth."] Lord, as this school year continues, this summer goes one and the new school year starts, I pray you just continue to teach me Lord. Teach me what to do. I would rather you walk with me in the sand footprint by footprint, then leave me high and dry to walk the desert place by myself.

Now, I know I may get a few bad thoughts and comments, but do leave them. There are things I would rather be put up front. And if one thing, your real truely honest relationship with Jesus. How is your walk? How is your faith? How much do you trust the Lord?
God Bless,Rene Carr

PS Do know that I do love you (those for which this is intended to be for). John 13:35 says ... "...as I have loved you, so you must. By this all men will know you are my disciples, if you love one another." And do know that " all that I do, is done with love." [1 Corinthians 16:14]. I love all of you dearly and I know your reading this with no care in the wordl ; but I pray that I am wrong about you. I pray that you see what I see, know what I now know, and open your eyes to the true light. My life has been troublesome and I have been through many trials, but I look through a different light. Without God, light of the day always seemed light looking through a glass...but now that is removed and I see what the world truely is. I love you four and do know you have been in my prayers for a long time and wil continue to be in my prayers.
Please reflect on John 4:8-23John 4:24 "..'God is Spirit, and those who worship HIm must worship in spirit and truth'. The women said to Him. 'I know that Messiah is coming and when he comes he will tell us all things'. Jesus said to her, ' I who speaks to you am He'..." HE HAS LIVING WATER!! PS. I have a skit to the scene after wards.. ask later about it.
Psalms 33:13-20

13 The Lord looks fro mheaven; He sees all the sons of men.14 From the place of His dwelling He looks on all the inhabitants of the earth;15 He fashions their hearts individually; He considers all their works.16 No king is saved by the multitude of an army; a mighty man is not delivered by great strength.17 A horse is a vain hope for safety; neither shall is deliver any by its great strength.18 behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy;19 To deliever their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.20 Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield

Lord... what will happen in the end? I know they end is a time from now, but you never know what tomorrow brings. Reflect in Revelations if your ready for it and ask God to grant you wisdom and understanding. But I love this verse:"He who over comes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels." - Revelation 3:5

Google's Wonderland: Trouble In Paradise?

Author: Dean Phillips
Article:The fairy tale existance of Google is starting to experienceshockwaves.
So, what's the source of these shockwaves? Click fraud. As myreaders know, I've written several articles on the subject ofclick fraud, suggesting that since it's the market leader,Google should take a more proactive approach with the problem ofclick fraud.

Until now, Google has been mostly quiet about the subject, issuing this single statement to the Securities and ExchangeCommission: "We are exposed to the risk of fraudulent clicks on our ads. Wehave regularly paid refunds related to fraudulent clicks andexpect to do so in the future. If we are unable to stop thisfraudulent activity, these refunds may increase. If we find newevidence of past fraudulent clicks, we may have to issue refundsretroactively of amounts previously paid to our Google Networkmembers."

So, why isn't Google doing more about click fraud? In one of myarticles, I theorized that with the amount of money involved,it's actually more cost effective for Google to issue anoccasional refund to its advertisers, than to develop technologyto eliminate click fraud.

That theory was echoed in a recent article, in which the authorwrote: "Google's primary defense against click fraud has been to refundadvertisers their money if they complain and Google seesevidence that fraudulent clicks have occured. The problem withthis is that the burden of proof is on the advertiser ... andGoogle knows that most advertisers will not take the time toargue. Therefore, Google has a financial incentive not to dealwith click fraud on their own. It not only costs them to dealwith the problem but if they do find a solution to stoppingclick fraud ... it will cost Google much more when they don'tget paid for 20 percent or more of their clicks."

However, all of that may be about to change. At an investorconference last Wednesday, Google CFO George Reyes stated: "I think something has to be done about this really, reallyquickly, because I think, potentially, it threatens our businessmodel."

My question is this: What took Google so long to come to thatrealization? It's not like click fraud just magically appearedyesterday. The media has been reporting on the problem for atleast the last 3 years.

Smug in its ivory tower, did Google think the problem was justgoing to go away by itself? Or was it waiting for Overture orone of the smaller pay-per-click companies to solve the problem,so it wouldn't have to deal with it?

These are troubling questions, to say the least. Even moretroubling is Google's passive approach to a serious problem, which in my opinion has been reprehensible.

It should be interesting to see what Google's next move is.Google CFO George Reyes statement notwithstanding, I'll believeGoogle is serious about eliminating click fraud, when I finallysee it!

Google excluding controversial sites

Here's an interesting article i fiund here: http://news.com.com/2100-1023-963132.html

Google, the world's most popular search engine, has quietly deleted more than 100 controversial sites from some search result listings.

Absent from Google's French and German listings are Web sites that are anti-Semitic, pro-Nazi or related to white supremacy, according to a new report from Harvard University's Berkman Center. Also banned is Jesus-is-lord.com, a fundamentalist Christian site that is adamantly opposed to abortion.

Google confirmed on Wednesday that the sites had been removed from listings available at Google.fr and Google.de. The removed sites continue to appear in listings on the main Google.com site.

The Harvard report, prepared by law student Ben Edelman and assistant professor Jonathan Zittrain, and scheduled to be released Thursday, is the result of automated testing of Google's massive 2.5 billion-page index and a comparison of the results returned by different foreign-language versions. The duo found 113 excluded sites, most with racial overtones.

"To avoid legal liability, we remove sites from Google.de search results pages that may conflict with German law," said Google spokesman Nate Tyler. He indicated that each site that was delisted came after a specific complaint from a foreign government.

German law considers the publication of Holocaust denials and similar material as an incitement of racial and ethnic hatred, and therefore illegal. In the past, Germany has ordered Internet providers to block access to U.S. Web sites that post revisionist literature.

France has similar laws that allowed a students' antiracism group to successfully sue Yahoo in a Paris court for allowing Third Reich memorabilia and Adolf Hitler's "Mein Kampf" to be sold on the company's auction sites. In November 2001, a U.S. judge ruled that the First Amendment's guarantee of free speech protects Yahoo from liability.

Google's battlesThe Harvard report comes as Google is becoming increasingly embroiled in international political disputes over copyright and censorship. China blocked access to Google last month.

Google was criticized in March for bowing to a demand from the Church of Scientology to delete critical sites from its index. In a response that won praise, Google replied by pledging to report future legal threats to the ChillingEffects.org site run by law school clinics.

As Google has become the way more and more people find information on the Internet, it has also become an increasingly visible target for copyright complaints about cached information and allegedly infringing links. ChillingEffect.org's Google section lists 16 requests or legal threats the company has received in the past three months. One Google competitor and critic even suggested that the wildly popular search engine be transformed into a government-controlled "public utility."

Edelman, who created the program that tested URLs against Google's index, said he was investigating a tip about Google's German-language version.

"One concern that I've had for some time vis-a-vis filtering is that filtering is almost always secretive," Edelman said. "In the (library filtering) case, that meant you can't look at the list of blocked sites. In the Chinese government case, you can't see what sites are being blocked."
Edelman, who is a first-year law student, testified as an expert witness for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in a court challenge to a law requiring libraries to install filtering software if they accept federal funds. He is also a plaintiff in a second lawsuit filed in June to eviscerate key portions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Google's responseGoogle refused to reply to a list of questions that CNET News.com sent via e-mail, including which sites have been delisted, how many sites have been delisted, what standards are used, and what other Google-operated sites have less-than-complete listings.
In an e-mail response, Google's Tyler said: "As a matter of company policy we do not provide specific details about why or when we removed any one particular site from our index. We occasionally receive notices from partners, users, government agencies and the like about sites in our index. We carefully consider any credible complaint on a case-by-case basis and take necessary action when needed. This is not pre-emptive--we only react to requests that come to us...to avoid legal liability, we remove sites from Google search results pages that may conflict with local laws."

Tyler said an internal team involving lawyers, management and engineers makes the final decision on what to remove. "At Google we take these types of decisions very seriously," he said. "The objective is to limit legal exposure while continuing to deliver high quality search results that enable our users to find the information they need quickly and easily."

Tyler pointed to Google's terms of service agreement, which says Google will "consider on a case-by-case basis requests" to remove links from its index.

A moving targetBecause Google has to keep track of a constantly moving target--new sites arguably illegal under French or German law appear every day--the search engine is encountering the same problems of overinclusiveness that traditional filtering software has experienced.

According to the Harvard report, some sites that Google does not list include 1488.com, a "Chinese legal consultation network," and 14words.com, a discount Web-hosting service and some conservative, anti-abortion religious sites. Those sites do not appear to violate either German or French laws.

Banned from Google.de and Google.fr listings is Stormfront.org, one of the Internet's most popular "white pride" sites. Stormfront features discussion areas, a library of white nationalist articles and essays by David Duke, a former Ku Klux Klan leader.

"We've been dealing with this for quite a few years," said Don Black, who runs the site. "The German police agencies seem obsessed with Stormfront even though we're not focused on any German language material."

Black, who learned a few months ago that Google.de delisted Stormfront, says he doesn't hold it against the Mountain View, Calif.-based company. "Google is trying to conform to their outrageous laws," Black said. "So there's really nothing we can do about it. It's really a French and German issue rather than a Google issue."

The First AmendmentBecause Google is a company and not a government agency, it has the right in general to delete listings from its service or alter the way they appear. (On Tuesday, however, CNET News.com reported that an Oklahoma advertising company has sued Google over its position in search results.)

"Google may not only have the legal right to (delete listings), they may have the legal obligation to do it," said Barry Steinhardt, director of the ACLU's technology and liberty program, and a co-founder of the Global Internet Liberty Campaign.

"Over the long term, this will become a significant issue on the Net," Steinhardt said. "There's a wide variety of laws around the world prohibiting different forms of speech. You can imagine what the Chinese government prohibits versus what the French government prohibits versus what the U.S. government prohibits."

Edelman, of Harvard's Berkman Center, suggests that Google find a way to alert users that information is missing from their search results.

"If Google is prohibited from linking to Stormfront, they could include a listing but no link," Edelman said. "And if they can't even include a listing for Stormfront, they could at least report the fact that they've hidden results from the user. The core idea here is that there's no need to be secretive."

New Gay Travel Site

There's a new Gay travel site that offers advice and info on gay freindly hotels and bars. Take a look here: http://www.pridecityguide.com/
